Meet John Perry Stone

Hello out there.  I love writing and illustrating picture books that bring light to the misunderstood, the forgotten, and the abandoned.  Creating life into objects, whether it's a bird that never learned to fly, a pumpkin with a voice, a can that just wants to be recycled or a piece of candy looking for a second chance, all are facing challenges ranging from acceptance, disabilities, and finding their spot in this world.  With a career in architecture having worked with Disney and Universal on some of the most beloved attractions around the world, the themed entertainment industry as my training grounds, it has provided me with over a decade full of creativity and curiosity.  Having moved from Los Angeles in 2020 I now reside just outside of Boulder, CO.  I have a seven year old daughter that keeps me motivated and provides endless inspiration.  I hope you enjoy the characters and their journey.
